All cakes are bespoke and made to order. We can either create a new design or you can choose from our portfolio. You may change the colours and flowers to compliment the theme of your celebration.
Consultations and cake tasting
Consultations are by appointment only, tasting samples will be provided at the consultation for big event cakes.
Timing
We would love to hear from you in the early stages of your planning. Each cake creation differs in complexity of design, hours of artwork and craftsmanship. Typically a celebration cake should be booked 3 weeks and a wedding cake 6 months before the event. However depending on our schedule, we may be able to accept orders at shorter notice.
Price range
Prices range from €5 - €20 per serving depending on serving size and complexity of design. Wedding cakes begin at €300 and are priced individually based on artwork. Celebration cakes start at €80 depending on the level of artwork and serving size.
Delivery and Setup fees:
As our cakes are fragile we offer a delivery option for an agreed fee ensuring maximum protection for your precious creation. Onsite set up fees are additional and vary based on the cake type.
Collection:
Cakes can also be collected from our premises.

We achieve the best impact in design when we receive suggestion and direction from you. Visuals examples greatly help us create the most personal design, photos, web links, invitation designs, color samples and cut outs from magazines are a great source of inspiration.

Standard design service
All of our cakes are individually designed to meet your requirements. Designs will contain version numbers that must be referenced in the Order Confirmation. The standard design service is included in the price for birthday and celebration cakes.
Wedding and large event cake tasting & design consultation
Individual tasting samples of our standard wedding/big event cakes (not for birthday and small size celebrations) may be provided at consultations and are included in the price, there is no separate charge for this.
Consultation Service
Consultations at our premises or in Central Brussels or Antwerp are included in the price as applicable. Consultations outside these areas will incur a charge as agreed on a case by case basis.
Standard cake flavor options
We offer the following cake flavors: vanilla cake layered with vanilla butter cream, lemon cake layered with lemon butter cream, chocolate cake layered with chocolate ganache butter cream, marble cake layered with vanilla butter cream, carrot cake baked with walnuts, rum-soaked sultanas and coconut with an orange butter cream, rich fruit cake baked with finest brandy, coffee and walnut cake layered with espresso butter cream.

Baking service
On receipt of you Order Confirmation and request to bake and decorate the cake we will complete the order for you.
Classes and Parties
Cooking classes will be carried out at our premises or at the customer premises as agreed. Order confirmation must be received with 50% non-refundable deposit in order to have a confirmed reservation. Final payment must be received two weeks prior to the start of the class or party event. Should you cancel your class or party reservation up to two weeks prior to the date of the class please note the deposit is non refundable, cancellations made less than 14 days before the date of the class will require full payment. The French Cake Company will confirm if the customer premises are suitable to host the event and reserve the right to not accept the order if the customer premises or environment are not suitable.
Order confirmation
Receipt of Order Confirmation via email, fax or letter confirms the order the latest design version number as agreed between the parties and should be referenced in the Order Confirmation.
Cake decorated with fresh flowers
If our cake design requires fresh flowers, your florist will supply these. We will liaise directly with your florist if applicable regarding the specific floral requirements and we will decorate the cake with the flowers on site. N.B. Please note, some flowers are not suitable for use as a cake decoration. Ask your florist for details regarding toxicity. We cannot be liable for any contamination to our food product that may arise from their misuse.
Cakes decorated with non-edible materials
The us of non-edible materials for cake decoration is increasingly popular. Please note that the “craft jewels” and accessories such as brooches, ribbons, silk flowers, diamonds, beads, feathers, etc that are used to decorate some of our cakes are not edible and must be removed from you cake before serving. All of our decorative gems and accessories are only used at the clients request and The French Cake Company accepts no responsibility for any physical harm that may arise from their use.
Price guide
Due to the bespoke nature of our products and services all our prices can vary and are quoted individually based on your requirements. Birthday and Celebration cakes start at €80. Wedding cakes from our standard collection start at €300 and include a cake tasting & consultation with the option of customizing one of our existing designs. Bespoke wedding cake designs start at €500, allowing The French Cake Company to invest time and care required into developing a completely new design to your specifications. For all other orders we require a minimum spend of €100, unless stated otherwise in our proposal or special promotions.
Allergies and special dietary requirements
Our cakes are not suitable for anyone with a nut allergy as they are prepared in an environment where nuts may be present. All our cakes can be made alcohol-free on request. Our carrot cake has an organic sunflower oil base so is free of dairy products. We are unable to offer egg-free (vegan) or wheat free cakes.
Lead times
We will always do our utmost to accommodate all orders, however, in order to provide you with the best service possible, we require sufficient time to design and process your order. The following lead-times are therefore recommended: For birthday and celebration cakes – 3 weeks, for wedding and big event cakes – minimum 2 months notice.
Payment
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required on date of order confirmation and must be cleared before any work is carried out. For wedding and large event cakes the final balance is due 4 weeks prior to the delivery or collection date and is non refundable. For all other cakes the final balance is due two weeks prior to the delivery or collection date and is non refundable. For orders with less than two weeks’ notice the full payment is required on confirmation and is non-refundable. We accept payment by cash or bank transfer.
Alterations
Where possible we will accommodate any changes you wish to make to your order at your discretion and may charge you for any additional costs accrued. As wedding and big event cakes require longer lead-times we ask that changes be made no less than 6 weeks prior to the delivery date. Please note that any changes to you order must be confirmed in writing or by email.
Cancellation policy
Wedding and large event cakes cancelled less than 4 weeks (30 days) prior to the delivery date the full amount payable is due and non refundable.
Should you cancel your order for wedding or large event cakes greater than 4 weeks prior to the delivery date the holding/confirmation deposit is non-refundable and any special ordered items and work already undertaken in accordance with your order is chargeable in addition.
All other cakes cancelled less than 2 weeks (14 days) prior to the delivery date the full amount payable is due and non refundable.
Should you cancel your order for all other cakes greater than 2 weeks prior to the delivery date the holding/confirmation deposit is non-refundable and any special ordered items and work already undertaken in accordance with your order is chargeable in addition.
Returns
Due to Health and safety issues we are unable to accept returns on items sold.
Collection, delivery and installation
Delivery and installation charges are quoted at the time of order. For information on charges please call The French Cake Company. Our contact details can be found on the website www.thefrenchcakecompany.com. Our installation service includes liaison with the banqueting team at your venue, assembly of the cake in situ and dressing of the cake as agreed. All cakes can be collected from our studio. Where appropriate, we supply cakes with full storage and assembly instructions. We are also happy to advise on transportation of the cake. If the cake is collected either by client or courier, The French Cake Company is not liable for any damage to the cake once it has left our premises.
Intellectual property rights
The products of The French Cake Company are protected by copyright, trademarks, trade names, knowhow and other intellectual property rights in the most extensive interpretation possible. In all cases intellectual property rights in the cakes, designs, drawings, models and materials displayed on the online website and/or exchanged by The French Cake Company with the client are and remain with The French Cake Company. The cakes, designs, models, drawings and other materials from The French Cake Company may not be reproduced in whole or in part, modified, linked to or used for commercial purposes without the prior consent of The French Cake Company.
Late payment and penalty
Any invoice or demand that remains outstanding on the due date will be subject to interest, by operation of law and without the need for any proof of default, at the rate of 12% per month, with each month that has commenced becoming due and also be increased with a fixed compensation of 15% of the outstanding amount with a minimum of 50 €.
Severability
Should any clause be considered invalid or unenforceable by the judgement of a Court of competent jurisdiction, all other provisions shall remain in full force and effect and shall not be affected therefore for the term of the agreement between parties.
The parties agree, however, to replace, when possible, any provision declared invalid by a provision which shall reflect their initial intent, as objectively and consistently as possible and in accordance with the basic relationship existing between the parties.
Applicable law and competent courts
This agreement between parties is governed by the law of the country of Belgium. All disputes arising out of or in connection with the present contract shall be finally settled by the Courts of Brussels.
Privacy
The French Cake Company respects your privacy. The French Cake Company is entitled to use your address and other data in order to inform you about their activities. If you do not want to receive this information, please let us know by mail (The French Cake Company, rue Grange des Champs 181, 1420 Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium). You can always change or make inquiries into your data by fax or mail. The French Cake Company does not provide information to third parties for commercial purposes.
